Prezentace – GFP Neratovice (Erasmus)
1.Basic Information – It’s public secondary grammar school located in the town of Neratovice, not far from Prague. Our school offers two main study programs – an eight – year program for younger students who come after fifth grade, and four – year program for students after ninth grade. The headmaster of our school is Mr. Aleš Jinoch. At our school, we study many subjects, and we can choose from several foreign languages such as English, German, French, Spanish and Latin.
2. History – The school as we know it today began officially as an eight – year grammar school in May 1990. It is named after František Palacký, who was a historian, politician and writer. People often call him “the Father of the Czech Nation”, because he helped to build Czech national identity during the 19th century, when the Czech lands were part of the Austrian Empire. František Palacký is remembered as a symbol of education, knowledge, and love for his country.
3. School facilities – The school building is modern and quite big. We have a large sports hall, a beach – volleyball court, and we also use the local swimming pool, athletic stadium and ice hockey rink.
4. Traditional School events – We have prom in February, which is kind of celebration after graduation, we also have “Aves”, which is a school talent show that takes place every year before Christmas holidays. Another event we have is “Majáles” that celebrates the transition from primary to secondary school.
5. Sport tournaments – The school participates in various sport tournaments including disciplines like volleyball, floorball, football and athletics.
6. Courses and excursions – The school organizes many different courses and excursions for its students: The ski course – 3 grades go on a ski course every winter and ski in many destinations mostly in the Czech republic; The boating course – 3 grades go paddling on one of our countries rivers every summer; excursions abroad – every year a few selected students go abroad and explore a foreign country -for example Germany, France, the UK or even Spain
